BREAKING: President Tinubu Orders Thorough Probe into Alleged Financial Scandal Involving Betta Edu’s Ministry

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has taken decisive action by ordering an in-depth investigation into a financial scandal currently rocking the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.
The controversy stems from a widely circulated document bearing the signature of Minister Betta Edu, instructing the disbursement of N585,198,500.00 to an individual named Oniyelu Bridget.
The document, addressed to the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, raised eyebrows as it revealed the allocation of the substantial grant, earmarked for vulnerable groups in Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Ogun, and Lagos states, into Oniyelu's account.
Minister Edu vehemently denies any wrongdoing, asserting that the reports aiming to tarnish her image are baseless. The revelation has triggered widespread concern, prompting calls for accountability and transparency.
Responding to the scandal, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, released a statement on Sunday evening, expressing President Tinubu's concern.
The President's directive for a thorough investigation aims to verify the accuracy and validity of the reported details.
The statement emphasized the government's commitment to transparency, accountability, and efficient use of public funds. It reassured Nigerians that the administration, under President Tinubu's leadership, is determined to unravel the truth surrounding the matter.
The statement also assured that appropriate actions would be taken to identify and decisively punish any breaches or infractions, aligning with the administration's commitment to public accountability and due process.
The Ministry of Information and National Orientation urged the public to rely on verified information from official sources and assured that accurate details would be shared as the investigation progresses.

Nigerians were encouraged to exercise patience as the government focuses on ensuring a fair and unbiased process, with the findings communicated duly and transparently to the public. Follow PrudentJ2.Com
